International
trainer, coach and author MK Mueller
spent 10 years in the classroom as a high school
teacher. Although an honors student in high
school, at 34 she found herself in a domestic
violence shelter. Her newfound insights combined
with her passion for education and ability to
break complex concepts into easy to understand
pieces led to the creation of
the 8 to Great
program.
In her words:
"In order to
be effective, education today must be
multi-dimensional. If a student walks
out of our education system with long
division and a large vocabulary, but
without courage, hope or gratitude for
life, we have failed. Not because we
have not taught these qualities, but
because they are natural to the human
spirit, they walked in our doors with
them, and therefore, somewhere along the
way, we have crushed them.
When taught from the heart by an
instructor who believes in the program,
8 to Great renews the spirit of
courage, hope and gratitude for life. We
guarantee it.”

Soon
after she left the shelter, Mueller began a
support group in her home with five neighbors.
To date, she has taken her program internationally
to over 200,000 adults and 6,000
students. She is the author of "Taking
Care of Me: The Habits of Happiness,"
now available in Spanish and French.
Her newest book on this material, "8 to Great:
The Powerful Process for Positive Change" will
be out in August of 2009.
MK
has over
100 educators and professional counselors
from nine states who
are certified trainers for the 8
to Great program. They see the power
of helping students and adults realize that
we are not victims because the power to effect
change is within us and are
prepared to coordinate the implementation of
8 to Great
in schools
all over the country. .

"We're
implementing 8 to Great
throughout our
curriculum because it helps students feel connected
with themselves, their dreams and others. I
have seen a significant difference in our students
and faculty. I recommend it highly."
Cindy Osterloh, Principal, Louisville
